  • FRUSTRATION OR HONESTY! What do I choose?

I need to make a choice now. Do I choose to be frustrated or is it time to make an honest assessment of my journey over the past few weeks on this PLATEAU.
WELL…. part of me wants to be FRUSTRATED, but after taking a moment to think about my plateau, I choose to make an HONEST assessment of the most recent part of my Fat Guy Journey. Let’s look at the bad and the good of it:

    BAD (needs attention)-

    • Olive Oil- I have used olive oil for my omelets recently. From a nutrient standpoint, it is probably good for me, but the caloric number is high> one tablespoon has 120 calories. I am pretty confident I have been dropping more than one tablespoon in the pan. CHOICE- it is back to PAM for now.
    • Cheese- I am eating cheese a little too often in my Atkins approach. CHOICE- I will limit my cheese intake and use less in meals.
    • Caffeine- I have tinkered with my caffeine intake the past week or so. CHOICE- I will return to decaf coffee in whole!
    • Cinnamon Pecans- Cinnamon Pecans at some Rays Games! What was I thinking or was I thinking? I do not have a sugar count on these things, but I KNOW it has to have a high calorie and sugar carb count. CHOICE- do not do this to ME…… No more CINNAMON PECANS!
    • COSTCO Chicken Salad- It is great and the calorie count is not bad, BUT the carb count is a lot higher than I thought. It is somewhere between 12 and 15 carbs per 2/3 cup. I need to stop the ASSUMING (you know the old adage) of carb count and checking. The calorie and carb info were not on the package, so I finally gone online and researched it. CHOICE> chicken salad will be an item that will be rarely eaten at this point.

    GOOD (keep it up!)-

    • Water intake- My water intake is still good. I just need to remain faithful about starting my intake first thing every morning.
    • Exercise- I am happy with my exercise and activity level. I continue to challenge myself and have started doing my set workout routines on my own. I have continuously improved my aerobic workout level over my journey.
    • Attitude- My attitude through this slow weight loss period has remained good and positive. I feel stronger in all aspects of my life even though the scale is not moving as fast as I would like. I AM LOVING LIFE with all of its ups and downs.
    • Tracking- I have been good with tracking my journey, success and failure!

Alright now! I have my check up done and my renewed focus. Let’s do it!!!!
    LOVING LIFE,
    FAT GUY!

  • JUST DO IT!!!!!!!!!

Well………….. I don’t know about you, but I know I am tired of talking about my “PLATEAU”. I know you feel the same way if you are tracking this site. I feel different today. I cannot explain it, I feel more energy and strength today (no, not steroids, that’s Manny’s gig in LA). I feel like I will be breaking that plateau this weekend. I weighed 307 lbs. this morning. This is the 9th day in the 307 range give or take a pound or less.
We will see how it goes, but I feel positive, confident and happy! I am changing a few things about my routine. I will let you know more details Monday.
If you are reading this I would ask you to ENJOY YOUR LIFE! Also, listen to Trace Adkins, U2, Darius Rucker and Def Leppard during your workouts. I do! They help me to enjoy my aerobic workouts.
    Loving Life,
    Fat Guy

  • Working to break the PLATEAU!

I have been in the 307-308 lbs range for the past week. In evaluating the past week and this plateau, I know I am doing OK physically. I am becoming stronger and I feel my pounds are shifting from fat to muscle. I will make sure I am focused on my water intake, carb count and eating intervals to assure I come through the other side of this plateau in good shape. Losing 43-44 pounds in 9 weeks has helped me to keep this plateau in perspective. I feel strong mentally, physically and spiritually. I maintain my focus on my main goal of losing 150 pounds. I will add my next picture when I break 300 pounds!

  • Can you say PLATEAU!?

Yes, I have hit my first major PLATEAU! I have been hovering around 307 for about 6 days. I am still down a couple of pounds since a week ago, so I celebrate that gain or loss depending on how you look at it. I have mentally prepared myself for the plateaus but that does not make it easy. Attitude and consistency are the most important ingredients to maintaining my weight loss success and continued journey to a healthier me.
I continue to remind myself about how much better I feel now than before March 2nd. I will make sure I get in a good workout this afternoon!
OH, and the RAYS WIN in Florida!! GOY RAYS!
    LOVING LIFE,
    FAT GUY

  • Back up to date!!

OK, the site is back up to date. Hostway helped me with my technical difficulty.
I am hovering around a 44 pound weight loss right now. I have a scheduled workout with Matt in a few minutes. We have 2 training routines down and will work on two more over the next few weeks. I felt strong after doing 91 minutes on the elliptical machine yesterday which is AMAZING to me. I do not think I have ever done an hour and a half of aerobic training before!
I will update you more later today or early tomorrow. I am excited about where I am going and what I am doing!!
    Loving Life,
    Fat Guy
