59 & Feeling not fine, but GREAT!

TheFatGuy TheFitGuy TheBEAST

I am one of the most blessed people I know. I FOUND MY JOURNEY TO HEALTH AND WELLNESS 6 YEARS AGO! Some people never find their journeys, never get to travel the road they define, never really live the life they design. SO, I am blessed to be experiencing all of these things.

As you all know, I found my journey of weight loss to health and wellness 6 years ago in March of 2009. My wife, Polly, told me “The Fire Story” that, quite frankly, saved my life! I not only lost weight, and a lot of it, I gained my health back and improved my fitness level tremendously. At 59, I am as healthy and fit as I have ever been in my life. This is not just a bold statement but a very accurate statement. I am blessed to be in the best shape of my life at 59!

I now find myself in a great and new place. I am defining the road I travel and designing my life. At my age that can be a scary thing for many of us, but I look at it as the greatest opportunity of my life. I do not look back on everything I have done and think shoulda, coulda, woulda*; I look back and see a foundation I have built, a journey I have learned from, and relationships I embrace. I look at all I have done to this point as preparation for now and the opportunities now present. I am more than ready to define the road and design my life! I have the tools to do it and am learning more everyday about putting the blocks in place to design and build the life I want and deserve.

So, in short, 59 is a number that happens to be my physical age. I happen to be born on May 19, 1956. It is not a number that defines my journey or the road I take. I define that and I choose the road. I will not let others expectations of me, age, or anything else choose my road and my design; I own that choice and design!

Note to ME and YOU:   Design YOUR life, travel YOUR road, be the person YOU want to be.

* Shoulda, Coulda,  Woulda-   “I am not a person that focuses on shoulda, coulda, woulda thoughts and conversation. ”  In talking about the past although I recognize and openly discuss my failures I do not think about going back to change anything. Life is a series of failures that lead to success. If you are working toward success in anything you will find failure along the way. Failing to try is the only true failure.
