It is time to go "Back to the Future". Another bottom line assessment of my situation has helped me realize it is time to get 'back' to basics if I continue to want a bright 'future'. I made a decision that weighing in the 220s while I was working on building and toning muscle would work for me. I recently topped 230 pounds between my week at Camp Kemo (an eat fest) and 2 weeks of dealing with allergies that hindered my ability to workout. This is a wakeup call! Time to get my act together! I remain in pretty good shape as my BP was 115/72 after a hard workout yesterday. BUT, I cannot let that fool ME as the scale does not lie!
I have challenged myself and challenged others to start and continue their journeys to health and fitness. It is time for ME to be the example I want to be for ME and others. I weighed in at 232.6 this morning which is not acceptable. I am setting a goal of returning to 217.6 pounds by Polly's and my Anniversary on August 10th. This gives me 37 days to shed 15 pounds and stabilize my weight in the 215 to 219 range. I have not been totally comfortable being in the 220s and topping 230 scares ME and I know it concerns Polly! It will be a needed Anniversary present for ME and a good present for Polly. I was 217 right before our anniversary last year so this will be a good starting point for me to take a hard look at where I am and where I need to be to continue on a healthy, happy, fit journey through life.
I will go 'back' to the basics to improve my present and 'future' quality of life. My BMR is 2051 calories right now so I will set a target of 1800 calories or less per day. I will increase my aerobic workouts as my allergies are now under control and this will help me with my physical and mental focus on ME! I will increase my water intake to 2/3 ounce of water per pound of body weight per day to help ME meet my goal. That will be about 154 ounces of water today. I have 100 ounces in the bag at 1:30 PM. I will log every calorie consumed each day which I do not feel I have done a good job of recently.
My log has helped me understand where I have been, where I am now, and where I need to go. My log is taking ME ' Back to the Future', back to a positive, happy, healthy future.
